Workato, a platform for enterprise automation, has partnered with OpenAI to integrate several AI models and upcoming releases from OpenAI into Workato’s no-code/low-code platform. Through this collaboration, the companies aim to simplify the process of building automation and integrations using generative AI.

New Capabilities

Workato has announced that it will introduce a range of new features as part of the partnership. These features include Workato Copilots, which allow users to create automation and application connectors using plain-English descriptions. Workato’s OpenAI connector will enable users to incorporate generative AI capabilities into their automation. Another feature, WorkbotGPT, will allow users to interact with enterprise apps and data using conversational language through chat apps such as Slack and Microsoft Teams.

Enhanced User Experience

According to Gautham Viswanathan, founder and head of products and engineering at Workato, the Copilot is like having a Workato expert coworker who generates workflow recipes and data connectors through natural conversation. The Copilot will assist users by providing onboarding support, learning new capabilities, discovering what to build next, offering recommendations, and providing instant troubleshooting help. WorkbotGPT will facilitate real-time automation in business workflows, eliminating the need for pre-built components.

Data Privacy Standards

Workato said its platform incorporates a robust governance framework, enabling the management of federated workspaces for different lines of business through AutomationHQ. The Copilots adhere to the strictest data privacy standards and do not use customer data from these interactions to train any model. The company also gives its customers full control over their assets, data and logs. Customers can also mask sensitive data, audit all user activity changes, stream logs for centralized monitoring, and customize the storage duration of logs. For international and multinational customers, Workato offers multi-region data center support for customers that need to meet strict data residency and sovereignty requirements.

Workato’s enterprise automation tool incorporates RecipeIQ, its own AI/ML models, which provide data mapping, logic, and next-step recommendations. By incorporating OpenAI’s models, Workato aims to further streamline automation and integrations development, making it easier for businesses to adopt its technology. Workato believes that as enterprises increasingly embrace the power of AI, their trust in sharing data with external LLMs will grow. It aims to solve that challenge by bringing AI, automation, and integration to a single platform and creating new products and solutions that its customers can use to harness the power of these technologies.
