Sony Pictures and Marvel have released the third official trailer for Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, ahead of its release on June 2. The trailer gives a glimpse of Miles Morales’ arc, where he faces a host of Spidey-themed enemies, including Spider-Cat and The Spot, who can create interdimensional portals.

The Plot

The trailer opens with Miles Morales’ narration about his life as Brooklyn’s only Spider-Man. His parents wait for him at school, where he is late for a meeting with his teacher. Meanwhile, he spots The Spot, a ghost-like guy trying to rob an ATM from inside a bodega. After a brief scuffle with The Spot, Miles makes it to the meeting, where his teacher praises his academic performance. However, his Hispanic mom is disappointed with his Spanish scores.

The Multiverse Threat

Miles gets catapulted across the multiverse to work with an elite crew of Spider-People, led by Miguel O’Hara/Spider-Man 2099. However, Miles refuses to join the team, spawning a war against a host of Spider-People from different universes. The Spot also threatens the multiverse with his portal-hopping abilities, and it’s unclear what threat he poses to the larger multiverse.

The Art Styles

The film features six major art styles, ensuring that each dimension offers a distinct vibe upon entering. For instance, the India-themed Mumbattan has a watercolour style.

The Cast

Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse stars Shameik Moore as Miles Morales, Hailee Steinfeld as Gwen Stacy, Karan Soni as Pavitr Prabhakar/Spider-Man India, Daniel Kaluuya as Spider-Punk, Issa Rae as Jessica Drew/Spider-Woman, and Jake Johnson as the OG Spider-Man/Peter Parker.

The Release

The animated movie will be released worldwide on June 2. In India, the movie will be available in English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Punjabi, Gujarati, Marathi, Bengali, Kannada, and Malayalam.
