In the realm of robot soccer, teams consisting of either five or seven robots compete against each other. The victorious RoboÉireann team is composed of both staff and students from the Departments of Electronic Engineering and Computer Science at Maynooth University. Their participation involves an innovative approach where all competing teams utilize identical humanoid robot hardware. However, the teams must develop their own software to enable the robots to play soccer autonomously.

RoboÉireann has been actively participating in European and International RoboCup events since 2009.
